Meet Kylie
My passion for counseling started when I sought therapy during high school due to being cyber bullied. In therapy, I was able to process through what I was experiencing, receive validation for what I was feeling, and learn how to overcome my unhelpful thoughts and feelings. It was in sessions with my counselor that I realized being a therapist was my calling in life; I wanted to help people experience the freedom and healing that she helped me achieve.
My experiences at a university psychology clinic and an IOP/PHP facility have led me to develop a passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I love working with this age range, as the focus of treatment is often on self-exploration and growing into the best version of ourselves. Through the therapeutic relationship, my goal is to help you feel empowered. I strive to do this by providing a space where you feel heard, understood, and validated, while also challenging and encouraging you. I believe change begins by challenging unhealthy thinking patterns and behaviors, grows into learning to accept ourselves for who we truly are, and results in a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.
I specialize in seeing clients with a variety of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, self-harm, and career related issues. I take a client-centered approach and incorporate my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also like to incorporate expressive arts when it becomes too difficult to find the words to express how we feel.
I have a four-legged sidekick named Winston who helps provide comfort when talking about our thoughts and feelings. He is a 45lbs, hypoallergenic, therapy dog, and is also an AKC registered Canine Good Citizen. Winston loves to meet new people and get all the belly rubs and back scratches!
I received my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Abilene Christian University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Meet Winston
Hi, my name is Winston! I’m a 5-year-old Irish Doodle (that’s half Irish Setter, half Poodle), and I’m proud to be the official therapy dog at Deep Waters Therapy. I’m a certified Therapy Dog and a Community Canine Good Citizen — which basically means I passed some really big tests to prove I can be calm, gentle, and helpful in all kinds of situations.

My mom (your therapist!) started training me as soon as I came home from the farm. She told me I had big paws to fill because my older sister was a therapy dog before me. With lots of practice, patience, and belly rubs along the way, I got my certifications and stepped into the job I was born to do.
What I Do in Sessions
I think I have the best job in the world — I get to spend time with people who sometimes need a little extra comfort, calm, or encouragement. Here are a few ways I can help:
🐕 I’m here to snuggle if you’re sad or lonely.
🐾 You can pet me when you’re feeling anxious or uncomfortable.
🐕🦺 I’ll happily take belly scratches if you need a little distraction or a minute to calm down.
🐾 You can even talk to me when words feel too heavy to share with anyone else.
🐕 And of course, I’m always ready to make you smile (bonus points if you have treats).
Sometimes I curl up on the floor during sessions, sometimes I sit next to you on the couch, and sometimes I just greet you at the door with a happy tail wag. However you need me, I’m here.
My Favorite Things
Belly rubs (the more the better)
Booty scratches
Showing off my tricks for treats
Meeting new friends
Being told I’m a very good boy
Napping in the middle of important conversations (hey, therapy is tiring for dogs too!)
So whether you need comfort, calm, or just a fluffy friend nearby, I’ll be right here with you. Because therapy is important… but it doesn’t mean it can’t come with a wagging tail and a smile.
