More About Caitlin
Hi! I’m Caitlin Culpepper, and I am so excited to be joining Deep Waters Therapy. I grew up in a military family and had the opportunity to live in many different states, as well as in Germany and Thailand. I love traveling and learning about new cultures. Travel has helped expand my worldview in so many ways. If you ever need any travel tips or tricks, I can help!
As for what brought me to counseling, it was truly God using my experiences with counseling. I remember in middle school going to a school counselor and hating it! I vowed to never attend counseling again. That was until my dad died of cancer when I was 19 years old. I found myself struggling in my grief and needing support from a counselor. Through that experience, I realized that counseling was actually beneficial, and I loved it. I initially went to college to be a teacher but ended up graduating with a degree in communications. That summer after graduation, I decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I felt called to help hurting people just as I had been helped, and specifically children!
I have loved working with children for as long as I can remember. I have worked in children’s ministries, been a mother’s helper, and babysat. I believe children can benefit incredibly from counseling, and I love providing them with a fun, interactive, and safe environment using play therapy primarily. While I specialize in seeing children (as young as 2.5 years old), I also enjoy working with teenagers and adult women. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect and the key to change. Additionally, my faith as a Christian is important to me. If you would like faith integrated into sessions, do not hesitate to ask. If not, that is no problem as well.
I have been counseling clients for two years and absolutely love my job! I recently moved back to Texas after a few years of living and working in Colorado. In my free time, I love exploring new places, playing board and card games, doing arts and crafts, and spending time with those I am close with. I would love the opportunity to work with you! Please feel free to reach out if you think we might be a good fit!
